Ian Homer

Hi, I'm Ian Homer. I'm a software engineer with decades of experience building a wide variety of systems. What has always given me the most satisfication is the collobarative ways of working and learning, that help us deliver software that we feel great about.

I started this blog to share my ideas for technology and software delivery, and to help make these topics more accessible for others. Much of the content is hands-on, encouraging you to explore concepts directly. Wherever possible, I focus on lightweight local environments which you can spin up quickly to make experimentation and learning easier.

This blog primarily focuses on platform engineering, developer experience and observability. As we deliver more and more change with agentic agents it is more important than ever to ensure that our platform and practices provides a reliable environment that encourages safe delivery at pace.
